Leh Palace – A historic 17th-century palace offering panoramic views

Built by King Sengge Namgyal in the 17th century, Leh Palace is a nine-story structure that reflects the architectural style of Tibet’s Potala Palace. Although much of the palace is in ruins, it still exudes charm and historic grandeur. The palace houses ancient artefacts, royal ornaments, and Buddhist paintings known as thangkas.

The highlight of Leh Palace is the stunning panoramic view of Leh town and the surrounding mountains. At sunset, the entire region glows in golden hues, making it one of the most photogenic spots in Ladakh.
