Nubra Valley – Known for sand dunes, Bactrian camels, and scenic beauty

Nubra Valley, referred to as the “Valley of Flowers,” sits at the confluence of the Shyok and Nubra rivers. It is one of Ladakh’s most diverse landscapes, where golden sand dunes coexist with lush green villages and snow-capped mountains. The Hunder sand dunes are the valley’s main attraction, offering visitors a chance to ride the unusual double-humped Bactrian camels—remnants of the ancient Silk Route.

The valley is dotted with charming villages like Diskit, Turtuk, and Sumur. Diskit Monastery, home to a giant statue of Maitreya Buddha, provides panoramic views of the valley below. Turtuk, the last village before the Pakistan border, offers a unique Balti culture and apricot orchards. Nubra Valley is not just a destination; it is a landscape full of contrasts, adventure, culture, and serenity.
